Area Middle Schoolers Take Center Stage in Theater Camp
Posted on 07/18/2020
This year's Theater Extravanganza, part of the Aquinas Academy summer camps, looked a little different this year but our faculty and student counselors were able to provide the same great theatrical experience that local students and parents have come to expect.

The weeklong camp exposed students of all levels of acting experience with interactive experiences about acting, singing and dancing, with an added element of projecting your voice while wearing a mask. The interactive sessions built up to the finale of the week, attended by parents and the Most Reverend Bishop James Checchio of the Diocese of Metuchen, as students performed short monologues or dialogues, followed by the grand finale: the musical number Telephone Hour from Bye Bye Birdie.

The camp was led by Music Director Mr. Joseph Cullinan, Drama Director Mrs. Lea Gossett, Campus Ministry member Mr. Kevin McCarthy, and alumnus Mr. Vincenzo Dama. They were assisted by current students and recent graduates Grace Metz, Katie Chan, Sarah Shanahan, Nick Lieggi, and Joey Valenzuela.
