Season of Giving in Full Swing at STA
Posted on 12/15/2020

COVID-19 might be the main topic of concern right now, but that didn’t stop the St. Thomas Aquinas High School community from coming together to support our local community!

Christmas Angel Program

Continuing a yearly tradition, STA partnered with Catholic Charities to adopt two families.  Each religion class was given a Christmas Angel with the name of a family member and a gift they would like to open on Christmas Day!  Our students were challenged to not only purchase the gifts but were also encouraged to pray for the family member they adopted.  Students and teachers went out shopping to fill those Christmas wishes.

Toy Drive

Prior to Thanksgiving, our students participated in a Dress Down Day to benefit the poor.  Some of the money collected was utilized to purchase toys!  These toys were donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Perth Amboy to be distributed to families in need.

Food Drive

Virtual days, holidays, and weather couldn’t stop our school community from collecting food.  COVID-19 has made food scarcity even more prevalent for families – and STA headed that call.  Food donations made during our Holiday Food Drive were given to alumnae Amarilis Rodriguez (2018) and her organization “Baskets for the Needy.”  These donations will help feed families in Perth Amboy this Holiday Season!
