The #15 in the state Varsity girls basketball team pulled off an impressive win over Monroe 64-41 to clinch the second GMC championship in a row. Kelsey Ransom and Emma Boslet had their moments with big blocks and impressive steals leading to a runaway win in the packed arena at Middlesex County College.

The Trojans scored the game’s first 17 points and never looked back as it delivered a solid win over the Monroe team that won the Red Division title in the GMC this year.

Four of St. Thomas Aquinas’ starters finished in double-figures, led by 14 points apiece from Megan Herka and Akyia Baker. Herka, like Boslet, has been a staple in the starting lineup since her freshmen year at St. Thomas Aquinas.

Ransom was named the game’s Most Valuable Player with an impressive 13-point, 11-rebound double-double, while Madison Ruddy poured in 12 points and Boslet had nine points and 14 rebounds as a force in the paint for St. Thomas Aquinas.
