DeJianne & Dunn Named GMC Scholar Athletes

The Greater Middlesex Conference once again recognizes Scholar Athletes, honoring students who shine on the playing field while also excelling in their academics and volunteer work. From St. Thomas Aquinas High School, seniors Alyssa DeJianne and Joseph Dunn were chosen for having stood out from the crowd.

DeJianne graduates in the top 10 percent of the class with a 4.6 GPA and as a member of the National Honor Society, Italian Honor Society, and Science Honor Society. She is a member of the Peer Leadership program and Student Council. She played on the JV basketball and Varsity softball and volleyball teams throughout her four years of high school. She was a four-year Varsity softball player and as pitcher accumulated 238 innings pitched and 291 strikeouts. She will be attending Iona College in the fall where plans on majoring in Health Sciences and playing D1 softball.

Dunn graduates also in the top 10 percent of the class with a 4.5 GPA and as a member of the National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, and Spanish Honor Society as well as a member of Peer Leadership and Student Council. He was a member of the Varsity cross country and tennis teams. He will be attending The College of New Jersey where he plans to major in Finance.
