Sports Highlights for the Week of December 15

Wrestling and basketball opened their seasons with wins this week and swimming extended its division streak. Here are the Varsity sports highlights for the week of 12/15:

On Tuesday, the Swim team had a big White Division win 106-64 over Wardlaw-Hartridge. Aquinas won 7 of 11 events and swept the 100 Free. Individual event winners were: Sierra Smith 200 Free, Sean O'Leary 50 Free, Sophie Hardy 100 Fly, Dominic Lawas 100 Free, and Sydney Zeszotarski 100 Back.

On Wednesday, the Boys and Girls Bowling teams both defeated Piscataway. Alexandra Sardis bowled the highest series for the girls at 401 and Kyle Imperial bowled the highest for the boys at 625.

On Thursday, the Wrestling team opened the season with a convincing defeat over Colonia 63-15.

The Boys Basketball team gave a preview of its strength in its season opener against South River, defeating them 81-26. Quadry Adams put up 26 points and Derrick Grant had 19.

Also on Thursday, the Swim team put up another White Division win 110-4 over Iselin-Kennedy, bringing the team to 4-0 in the GMC conference. Aquinas won 8 of 11 events and swept the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Back. Individual event winners were: Sophie Hardy 200 IM, Sean O'Leary 50 Free, Sierra Smith 100 Fly, Dominic Lawas 100 Free, and Sydney Zeszotarski 100 Back.

On Saturday, the Girls Basketball team defeated Colonia 66-16. Lead scorers were Emma Boslet with 12 and Kelsey Ransom with 10.
