“Let no one have contempt for your youth, but set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.” - 1 Timothy 4:12.

On Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Father Timothy Christi, Vicar General of the Metuchen Diocese, bestowed the St. Timothy Award to young adults of the Metuchen Diocese. Following the ceremony, Bishop Checchio celebrated a liturgy for the recipients and other youth of the Diocese who were attending the Metuchen Diocesan Youth Ministry Event.

Bishop Ahr High School was proud to have four recipients among those from across the Diocese: Cheyanne Diem, Avery Murillo, Philip Mezzacappa, and Gerard Chiricolo. Seniors Cheyanne Diem and Avery Murillo were nominated by BGA; Senior Philip Mezzacappa was nominated by St. Matthew Parish in Edison; and Junior Gerard Chiricola was nominated by St. Ambrose Parish in Old Bridge.

These young adults who received the St. Timothy award were nominated because they are leaders in their schools and parishes, being actively involved spiritual life, living as disciples of Christ, setting a positive example for other youth, and demonstrating Gospel values through spirituality, prayer, and service to others.

Congratulations to Cheyanne, Avery, Philip, and Gerard for being strong examples of faith-filled and dynamic young people!
