WABA Day Welcomes Class of 2022
Posted on 09/14/2018
On Friday September 14, 2018 the Bishop Ahr High School Class of 2022 filled the halls in anticipation of BGA’s annual “We Ahr Bishop Ahr” Day, better known as WABA Day.

After the opening prayer prepared and led by Senior Martin Vavrak and Junior Jaleena Findley, the “We Ahr Bishop Ahr Cheer” kicked off the activities of the day! This rousing cheer, which could be heard around the building, was led by Seniors Trisha Ponik and Ryan Breyta. The “Rain Game,” led by a group of seniors and Mrs. Lynne Braine, proved to us all of the power of working together as a community.

The freshmen were guided by the upperclassmen in numerous team-building and school spirit-filled activities. The program included helpful icebreakers and activities led by Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors in small groups. The highly competitive Alphabet Game was played by everyone in the gym, followed by a scavenger hunt using QR codes, which helped the Class of 2022 find out about the BGA building and its people. Freshmen and upperclassmen raced through the building to finish the scavenger hunt first!

New to this year’s events was a memorable video presented by the Student Council Officers to showcase BGA's various clubs and activities while answering some common questions that Freshmen have about the experiences that await them at BGA. And Little Theatre rocked with the music of Mr. Joseph Cullinan, Music Director, along with members of the BGA band and chorus. Students sang along at the top of their lungs to “Big House,” “Trading Our Sorrows,” “Living on a Prayer,” and “Don’t Stop Believing,” filling the theater with energy and school spirit!

These activities and more were done to unite the Class of 2022 with the BGA community. Chants of “We Are Bishop Ahr” were heard loud and clear throughout the halls of BGA throughout the day! It was a great day filled with great spirit and great community!
