Sports Updates for the Weeks for 4/1 and 4/8

On Thursday, April 5, the Varsity Softball team defeated Colonia High School 8-1. The Trojan offense exploded with 13 hits. Kaitie Eicher was 3 for 3 with two doubles and a home run and Erin Pepe was 4 for 4.

On Friday, April 6, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team won its season opener against J.P. Stevens with a score of 6 to 4. Goalie Collin Drill had 25 saves.

On Saturday, April 7 the track team competed against Metuchen High School. Medal winners were Kassandra Griffin in the 400 meter hurdles, David Essel in the 5000 meter run, and Sam Manu in the triple jump.

On Tuesday, April 10, the Varsity Softball team defeated Mount Olive High School by a score of 2 to 1. Megan Herka led the offense going 2 for 2.

On Wednesday, April 11, the Varsity Softball team shut out North Brunswick High School 10-0. Megan Herka went 2 for 2 and Colleen Cronin went 3 for 3. Katie Eicher earned the win, allowing only 1 hit.

On Wednesday, April 11, the JV Softball team also defeated North Brunswick 13-3. Desiree Twumasi-Ankrah had three hits and Jolisa Ramos's three-run homer secured the win.

On Thursday, April 12, the Varsity Softball team shut out Sayreville High School 11-0. Megan Herka and Allison VanDemark both went 3 for 3 and Allison LaRochelle was 2 for 2. Katie Eicher pitched four scoreless innings and Alyssa DeJianne pitched in relief.

On Thursday, April 12, the JV Softball team came from way behind to defeat Sayreville 26-15. Brianna Fontanilla was 5 for 5 with 3 home runs. Gabby Shevlin had two home runs and Deijhanna Semester added another.

On Thursday, April 12, the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team came from behind to defeat Edison High School 11-8. Cassidy Veltre scored four goals, Erica Bocanegra two, and Bethany Ciccarelli, Morgan Frazee, and Shay Gutkowski each scored one.

On Thursday, April 12, the Boys Varsity Tennis team defeated Dunellen by a score of 4 to 1. Victories were secured by Matt Jiang, Tony Stephan, Trent DeMesa/Sean Zagarola, and Jin Zhou/Christian Vozza.
