Members of the STA yearbook staff and the P.inK Club, along with their advisors Mrs. Fucci and Mrs. Veni, recently embarked on a heartfelt mission to St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. As partners in the mission of the Diocese of Metuchen, the students and faculty of STA believe in the power of compassion and support for those in need.

In a display of solidarity for breast cancer awareness, the members of the P.in.K Club spearheaded efforts to raise both funds and awareness for those affected by the disease. Through informative morning announcements featuring facts about breast cancer and heartfelt prayers, students rallied their peers to wear pink in a show of support. The culmination of their efforts was a series of fundraising activities, resulting in a $400 donation to the Breast Center at St. Peter's University Hospital.

Recognizing the challenges faced by patients and caregivers alike during hospital stays, particularly when children are involved, students also worked to help alleviate some of the burden. Throughout the month of March, they collected essential items for Parent Care Packages, destined for parents of patients in the Pediatric Emergency Department and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. They gathered and assembled health and beauty items, snacks, and treats, followed by a "Wacky Wednesday" dress-down day to further boost fundraising efforts, resulting in $875 of donations to the Children's Hospital at St. Peter's University Hospital.

In addition to delivering the generous donations, students had the privilege of engaging with Emily Lyssikatos from the St. Peter's Foundation and Kristal Neal from Child Life in the St. Peter's Children's Hospital. These dedicated individuals shed light on the profound impact of the students' contributions and offered valuable insights for future initiatives to best serve the needs of the hospital.

Looking ahead, St. Thomas Aquinas High School is committed to nurturing its partnership with St. Peter's University Hospital, with a steadfast dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients, caregivers, and all those touched by the hospital's vital work.
